Inferno
I said it, 'cause I meant it

Written: 08.01.02
(Inferno has a plain expression on his face. He is sat on a bench in the middle of a play area for children. He is motionless, the wind slightly blowing, his hair wet, and he has his usual clothes on. He is looking just past the shot)

Inferno: Reynolds, upon questioning my personality or as you so lightly put it, a ‘personality disorder’, I do not have your little idea of a personality disorder. Never had, and don’t right now. See, it may have seemed I contradicted myself last night, but if you understood what I was saying, and really did ‘review’ my promo I was talking about two totally different things.

Inferno: When I called you an SOB and an ungrateful punk, I was referring to your ways of telling your life story, as though there was no one worse off than you. But there are, there were and still are people who have lives far worse than you ever did.

Inferno: On the other hand, I respect you for pulling yourself together though. For not drinking after all those years, that is what I respect. So get that straight, I meant two different things. On the whole, you haven’t earned my in ring respect, you see, that is something that could come this Saturday. You never know.

(Inferno shakes his head in disgust; he narrows his eyebrows and continues)

Inferno: Onto your next little question. How do I know how your body thinks? Heh, well, kid… by saying that, I meant - I know what things you are capable of in the ring. I can see your limits. I can see how far they can be pushed; I meant I know roughly what your limits are, and how in shape you are. Use your logic Reynolds. It would help a lot. So by saying this… I can indeed see how your body is working. Now I know how it does, I know what to do this Saturday. I know how to go about fighting you, I will push your limits to the edge, I will make sure you will; be stretched, and I will not stop until I do… and then some.

Inferno: But I don’t know everything about you. See, I have a rough picture of you forming in my head as we speak. If you honestly think that I think I know all about you, you are sorely wrong. I am not that sort of person. I never let my guard down, I am always in the search for more, and I never stop until the bell rings. My walls are high, and in most cases, they are too tall to climb. Too wide to go around, to deep to go under and too think to get through. Will I beat you?

(Inferno chuckles and then pauses, to think)

Inferno: To be perfectly honest the answer is; It’s possible. Yet you seem overly confident. You seem to be blinded by your ego and arrogance, of which are making you sure of your self that you will walk out of Fusion, a winner. Now, I cannot put that down. It’s possible, hell, anything is possible in Mercury, but it is also possible for you to walk out the loser, you have to keep that in mind.

Inferno: I am in no way underestimating you. I have never done that to an opponent yet. Never will. Don’t think I will Reynolds, don’t think I will ignore that facts either, hell, don’t assume I will, don’t assume anything with me.

Inferno: Naivety. In all honestly, I couldn’t care less if Emmanuel Lewis thinks it isn’t a word or not. That is beside the point; I wasn’t saying that to become an English teacher. I didn’t say that to get some heat from you or this actor guy. I said it, ‘cause I think it. I don’t hide away my thoughts often, so I say what comes to mind. In my mind, I think you are acting very Naïve. Why? Simple..

(Inferno tries to stop himself, he is getting hot and emotional again)

Inferno: You go around, shooting your gums about your life, about how you will beat me, why an experienced wrestler such as myself, should not underestimate you. That is a sign, an obvious sign, of Naivety. Good English or not, it speaks the truth, as we all know perfectly well what it means.

Inferno: And yes, I know you are violent. But I also know you are not the violence in Mercury. I will prove that to you, and the Mercury world that you are not, but far from it. I’ll be at Fusion, waiting for you, wanting you. Take your best shot, Reynolds.

(Inferno pauses)

Inferno: I will equal it.

(Inferno pauses again to take a deep breath)

Inferno: I will equal it, and then push your limits, to the violent breaking point.

(Inferno smirks, and the scene fades out)
