Subdued
Go take a swim

Written: 7-19-02
(The camera shows Subdued sitting on a bench with some shades on, and a full length towel thrown over his shoulder. You can hear children squealing in delight every so often and splashing going on. As we zoom out, you notice he isn’t wearing a shirt, only a pair of swimming trunks and sandals. You also notice he’s sitting in front of a chain-link fence enclosing a swimming pool. There is a fair-sized bandage on his forehead covering up the gash left by an Inferno chair shot. Numerous contusions are also seen across his torso.)

As you can see, I’m a little sore and beat up as of now. But ya know what? It was worth it. Inferno just showed me what he was made of, and it’s a HELL of a lot more than I gave him credit for. My back is beat to hell and my head needed stitches, but the pain is eased some knowing that I’ll get my first title shot soon. It was a great match, and I think we both gave the fans more than what they expected to see. We preformed on a huge stage and we both stepped it up. But enough self praise.

Jin Akujin, congratulations on becoming the North American champion. You may have not dominated the entire match, but you did what you had to do when you had to do it to come out victorious. I guess I won’t be facing you even though I became your title’s number one contender just the other night. My time will come, however, and I’ll just bet my chance will come against you. Now onto my upcoming opponent.

Mr. Robert Young, Junior… I guess the match makers must’ve made up their minds before the pay-per-view. They obviously thought that you were going to successfully defend your title, and that I was going to win the number one contendership match. Of course, I met their expectations, but you fell a smidge short. I’m not saying that we fought equally talented individuals, but I still won and you still lost, and now I get a shot at the North American Title... which you just lost. Seriously though, I can’t tell you the real reason as to why I don’t get to wrestle Jin right away, but for whatever reason, I guess it doesn’t matter. I might as well take on someone who is about his equal so I might have a slight idea as to what I can expect. Your styles are obviously tremendously different, but the caliber at which you both wrestle is similar. Maybe it will help; I don’t know… it has no relevance until after the match. All I need to concern myself with is you for now. But as for right this very minute, all I need to concern myself with is getting inside and having myself a good ol’, relaxing swim.

(With that, Subdued turns away and walks towards the entrance as the camera fades out.)
